There will also be plenty of meet-and-greet action back in Grafton all night as well.
Saturday morning at 10am we invade the Hawg Pit (right in Grafton) for day one of the festivities. Here's a link to the Hawg Pit's Facebook page: www.facebook.com/hawgpitbarn
Cars, trucks, and bikes are parked as they arrive - Build-Off entries will be scattered throughout.
**Build-Off participants - please register at the Rat Rod booth after you have parked. Registration will be quick and simple: sign a release, give us some info, and tag your car. Rat Rod Magazine staff will be photographing Build-Off entries and interviewing owners all day Saturday and Sunday. Event attendees will also be able to vote on Build-Off entries both days. (public ballots will be at the Rat Rod booth)
In addition to the car and bike show, Hawg Pit will be providing food, drinks, and entertainment all day and into the night.
You will be able to leave your vehicles at the Hawg Pit overnight Saturday night. There will also be space to park trailers Saturday and Sunday.
Sunday morning we will congregate at the Hawg Pit in preparation for the Great River Road Cruise which leaves Grafton at 8am sharp. This is a police escorted cruise into St Louis. (approx 45 minutes) Please be at the Hawg Pit and ready by 7:30 so we can leave on time!
We've addressed the burnout situation a couple times, but just to reiterate: Natural Bridge Road outside of Shapiro's is a public road. What you do out there is between you and the city of St Louis. Please be careful and courteous, as local traffic will be using this same stretch of road. We understand the chaos that erupts on this road is the charm of Steelfest, but we don't want to see anyone hurt or in trouble. We expect law enforcement to be present as they have been in years past.
Shapiro's will be supplying free hot dogs and soda - Sam does this every year and all he asks in return is that - if you are so inclined - drop a buck in one of the donation jars and support our Veterans. Sam will also be raffling off an old car of some sort (something original for your rat rod projects) and of course there will be live music and other entertainment.
There will be some post-event celebration in Grafton Sunday night for those who want to hang out at any of the local watering holes.
Build-Off results will be released in conjunction with the magazine. That issue (#40) hits stores November 20. For official Build-Off rules and info, check out previous articles: www.ratrodmagazine.com/blog/tag/build-off
